How good is your driving based on your star sign?
Marmalade has analysed the best and worst driving scores to see if star signs really do impact the driving skills of young drivers.

As the champions for young drivers, we’ve analysed over 3.6 million driving scores to give you the best data on how good (or bad!) a young person’s driving is based on their star sign. We’ve used the data from our Black Box Insurance customers from June 2021 - January 2022 to give you the best insight into the correlation between the 12 zodiac signs and driving habits!

Aries
Aries often get frustrated by exhaustive details and unnecessary nuances, so it’s not shocking that they score the worst for cornering! Whilst Cancer and Scorpios are the best at taking corners smoothly, Aries need to up their game…

Gemini
Geminis are notorious extroverts, so it’s no surprise that when it comes to phone usage, it is Geminis who need to stop chatting and keep their eyes on the road! Remember, you could face a hefty fine and points on your licence if you get caught using your phone whilst behind the wheel.

Cancer
There’s no cutting corners with people born from June 21st - July 22nd! Those with a Cancer star sign scored the best for safe cornering which means you’ll be safe and sound whilst a Cancer is behind the wheel!

Virgo
Out of all of the signs, Virgo made up 10% of journeys made between June 2021 and January 2022 - more journeys than any of the other signs. However, if a Virgo asks you to get in the car, you may want to think twice! People with this star sign scored the worst for overall driving points on our telematics device, as well as acceleration.

Libra
Libras are generally indecisive but there is one thing they are sure on, not using a phone whilst behind the wheel! This sign takes the rules of the road seriously and scored the best for keeping their phone locked away when driving.

Scorpio
Our data suggests that it is actually Scorpios who are the most cool-headed on the road - despite their fiery reputation! If you’re friends with a Scorpio, you should probably count yourself lucky - according to our data they are the best drivers!

Capricorn
People born from December 22 - January 19 tend to have great self-control and are well disciplined, so it’s no shock that Capricorns are our most sensible drivers when it comes to speed.

Aquarius
Aquarius are the smoothest drivers, with the best score for smooth acceleration. However, their dislike for limitations has meant they come close to being the worst drivers for speeding!

Pisces
If you want to keep your drink from MaccyD’s firmly in the cup, we suggest avoiding a trip to the drive thru with anyone born from February 19th to March 20th! Pisces score the worst for braking.

Leo, Taurus and Sagittarius
People with these star signs are pretty bang average when it comes to driving! Tauruses and Leos should probably watch their speed though, they both came close to being crowned as the ‘speediest drivers’.
