And, just as most Italians appreciate a thing of beauty, Fiat are no different - they build their cars to look chic and smart, something that’s definitely noticeable in the vintage-styled 500.
Best known for making small, safe, and reliable cars that are cheap to run, Fiat are propelled by their love of technology. Innovation is at the heart of all their projects driving their passion for safety, security and style.
Fiat’s recent popularity is due to the revival of the stylish 500 which looks unbelievably cool and fun to drive. Over the years Fiat has made many compact models including the Punto, Panda and Uno. But it’s the 500 together with the Panda which have been the most successful.
The Fiat 500 was affectionately nicknamed The Bambino (“The Baby”) when it was first launched in 1950’s. It was an instant hit selling more than 4 million cars over Europe. Just like today, people seemed to love the little, somewhat cheeky car, which allowed them to nip quickly around town.
The model was re-introduced in 2007 retaining the original retro-styling and vibrant personality from the 1950s. With its bold colours, chic styling and sense of fun the 500 has proved as popular now as it did in then, winning more than 40 major awards including CAR magazine - Car of the Year. You’ll be hard pressed to find another small car which is as fashionable and fun.
