Citroen C1

It’s no wonder the C1 is so popular with young drivers – it’s compact, smart and funky and easy on the pocket!

If you’re after a classy little car that doesn’t compromise on driveability, the Citroen C1 could be the one for you. The best news? You can secure a new Citroen C1 with a £500 deposit and we’ll pay towards your first year’s insurance. You can use this to buy insurance from a provider of your choice (of course, we’d love it if you chose our black box insurance, but we don’t tie you in!)

Reasons to love the Citroen C1

An upbeat sprightly drive

Available in 1litre, or the livelier 1.2 litre engine, the Citroen C1 is an enjoyable drive that loves nothing better than a spin around town. The light steering makes it a breeze to navigate city streets and parking in tight spaces a doddle.

Chic and cheerful

There’s no denying the Citroen C1 is a smart little car. The styling, inside and out, is fresh and fun and there’s plenty of choice in colour options. The C1 feels surprisingly roomy up front but it does lack some space in the rear seat and boot; your mates may get a bit fidgety on longer journeys!

There’s a smart connecting box Bluetooth and USB set up on some models, a nice 7-inch colour touchscreen on the mid-range Feel model and alloys, and reversing camera on the top price Flair model. All models can have keyless entry and keyless start.

Strong on safety

Euro NCAP gave this car a solid four out of five stars for safety with an 80% occupancy rating for adults and child protection.

There’s also hill-start assistance so you’ll avoid any awkward reverse hill slippage. The security kit includes an immobiliser and central locking.

Economical and environmental

The stop/start technology helps to keep CO2 emissions down to only 88/km and this gives you a decent fuel economy of 74.3mpg.

You’ll need to get this car serviced every 15,500 miles or 12 months (whichever comes first), but servicing costs are reasonable and shouldn’t break the bank.

Happily, Insurance costs are also low, falling into group 6 for the 1.0 litre car or group 12 for the 1.2 litre.

Frequently asked questions

What is a guarantor?arrow
A guarantor is someone who formally guarantees to pay the finance if the young driver is unable to make the repayments.
What is the benefit of adding a guarantor to my finance application?arrow
If you're aged under 21, you're unlikely to have built up much credit history, so approval will be based on your personal circumstances. Having a guarantor increases your chance of being approved - thus allowing you to start building up your credit score.
How does the insurance allowance work?arrow
It’s pretty simple really. You’re quote will let you know the cashback amount available on your chosen car. This is the allowance we’ll pay you to put towards your insurance. We’ll pay this directly into your bank account by BACS on delivery of your brand new car!
You’re free to insure the car with any provider (we think it’s only fair!) Of course, we’d love you to choose Marmalade for your car insurance – so don’t forget to get a quote for our black box insurance once you’ve chosen your dream car. You’ll enjoy comprehensive cover, no curfews and you could earn an extra safe driving discount of up to 25% at renewal¹ if you drive well – on top of any No Claims Discount you earn!
What happens after the first year?arrow
We'll send you a renewal price, but you don't have to take it and if you can find a more suitable policy somewhere else you can move your insurance (we'll miss you though!)
