One common question that we get asked, is “Can I get learner driver insurance on my own car?” – and the quick answer is yes, but there is a bit more to it!
How do I get learner driver insurance on my own car?
Our New Driver Insurance is a fully comprehensive policy, giving you insurance on your own car. You can buy the cover while you are still on your provisional licence – enabling you to practice as much as you like, as well as using your own car for your driving test if you want to.
Once you pass your test we won’t put the price of your policy up - just give us a call and let us know you’re a fully qualified driver, no need to worry about scrambling around for new insurance!
What will I be covered against?
The cover on the policy is fully comprehensive so you can be reassured that you're covered against fire, theft, malicious damages and any accidents while you're driving the car. You can read a summary of cover here.
Which cars do you cover?
Your safety is important to us, so we only insure cars up to 9 years old.
What if I need to make a claim?
We hope you don't need to claim, but if you do, simply call our underwriter on 0345 600 0676. Claims START is a service from Allianz to help you through the early stage of making a claim. An immediate call to Claims Start will ensure that your claim is handled quickly and smoothly. It's always a good idea to make sure you have all your policy details to hand when you call to make a claim.

I was worried about having the box fitted to my car at first because I wasn’t sure how strict or sensitive it was but it's definitely helping me become a better driver.
