Driving Instructors up and down the UK raise funds for Children in Need with The Big Learner Relay for the sixth year in a row!
Louise Walsh, the Hampshire based driving instructor is the inspiration behind The Big Learner Relay for Children in Need. The two-week event features instructors and pupils across the country all getting together raise money for Children in Need. The 2019 event starts a day in Jersey on 24th October, followed by a day in Northern Ireland on the 29th. The event will then continue around the UK from Friday 1st November, with the grand finale leg ending at the National Space Centre in Leicester, where the learners and instructors will be welcomed by some very special children on Friday 15th November.
Since the launch in 2014, The Big Learner Relay has raised over £400,000 for Children in Need!
The Big Learner Relay covers 3,000 miles, with each instructor coming up with ways to raise funds in the best way that works for them, including sponsored lessons, fancy dress lessons, PJs for Pudsey and car washes! The biggest fundraiser is ‘sponsor a spot’, where pupils, businesses and the general public donate money to sign a coloured spot and stick it on the instructor’s car!
The Big Learner Competition!
Now we wouldn’t be Marmalade if we didn’t run a competition – would we! Our Big Learner competition is below. One lucky person will be chosen as the winner on Thursday 14th November and be given either a £50 Amazon voucher, or can choose a £50 contribution to Children in Need!
