Marmalade, the leading provider of car insurance for young people, is celebrating after the team it sponsors, Hartpury RFC, achieved promotion to National League One in Rugby Union.
Marmalade has sponsored the Gloucester-based team for the past year, funds that have helped the team to develop and reach its potential.
Crispin Moger, managing director of Marmalade, says: “This longstanding sponsorship has been really great, particularly for me as an avid rugby fan, and it’s brilliant to see the team do so well. Marmalade is an insurance company solely for young people, so we’re pleased to promote and support these young players in their passion and enthusiasm and we all wish them the best as they take on new challenges next season.”
Phil de Glanville, Director of Elite Sport at Hartpury and former England Rugby and Bath captain, said: “Marmalade’s sponsorship has been really important to the continued progression of our National League team, who have had an exceptional season alongside our university and Under-18s sides. Their promotion into National League One completed a unique treble for the college and is deserved reward for a season of hard work.
“For us, it’s a great fit working in partnership with Marmalade given the work the company does to develop young people’s driving skills and raise their awareness of road safety.”
The specialist car insurance company only provide insurance cover for new and young driver drivers (17-25 years old), ensuring fairer process for the inexperienced drivers. Clever black box technology is installed in the young person’s car, encouraging safe driving alongside the freedom from having a car.
The Hartpury rugby team is one of the highest ranked clubs in England and has produced full internationals for England, Ireland and Wales, as well as some of the emerging rugby nations, such as Canada.
