Blue Monday has hit, and we’re definitely feeling it!
What is Blue Monday?
Well, today! Blue Monday is the name given to a day in January (usually the 3rd Monday of the month) as it is said to be the most depressing day of the year. You’ve had an amazing Christmas, a wonderful New Year and you’ve gone back to work, school or university, full of hope and aspirations for 2018. That is until Blue Monday hits, and you find yourself back in the day-to-day cycle you were in before the holidays, and feeling pretty annoyed about it! If this is you today, fear not! We’ve put together some tips and tricks that might make today not so bad after all.
Book something fun
It doesn’t need to be a boring Monday! Why not go out for dinner, or to the cinema? Just because today hasn’t been good so far, doesn’t mean it needs to end that way!

Take a break
Ok, don’t take a break right now I mean we’re only just into the New Year 😉 but thinking about your next time away can be the perfect thing to lift your spirits! If you haven’t got a getaway planned, have a look what’s around to inspire you.
Believe it or not, smiling can make you happier. It releases loads of feel-good chemicals in your brain. Your body will relax and it can even help your blood pressure! Share a smile with someone, and help each other to have a better Monday!
An early night
If you’ve had a bad day, then hit the hay! There’s nothing better than a good night’s sleep, especially after a long and miserable day. If none of our tips works – an early night will definitely do the trick!
Blue Monday may be given the title of ‘most depressing day of the year’, but don’t forget that feeling glum for a day is very different to actually having depression.
